During the closing seconds of the first half between the Lakers and Warriors, LeBron James fell to the floor. After seeing the replay, it looks like he flopped.

The basketball got tipped to James before he hit the ground. There was no contact made on this play, which is why fans were confused by this sequence.

As a result, the NBA world rushed to Twitter to offer their best guesses as to why the four-time MVP hit the hardwood at the end of the first half.

“This is muscle memory in flopping,” one fan said.

Another fan said, “LeFlop doing LeFlop things @KingJames basketball IQ is so high, he was anticipating to get bumped. But it did it work out like that.”

“His left foot overstepped…stop being stupid. Falling down was his best option or he gets a twisted ankle,” a third fan commented.

James played well in Game 2 against the Warriors, scoring 23 points in 28 minutes of action. The rest of the team – outside of Rui Hachimura – didn’t show up though.

Game 3 between the Lakers and Warriors will take place on Saturday night.
