Sports World Furious With TNT's Broadcasting Decision Tonight

TNT took a toy out for a spin during Wednesday’s Eastern Conference playoff game between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.

The broadcast flew a drone over TD Garden during the first half. Not only did it attain low-quality shots that looked distorted compared to the usual camera views, but viewers could see the drone on the main angle. 

Fans implored TNT to stop using the drone.

“I appreciate you trying new things TNT, but get this drone shot outta here,” a fan wrote on Twitter. “The colors are off, and the frame rate doesn’t match. Takes me out of the game.”

“The drone is annoying & distracting,” Anna Horford said while watching her brother, Al Horford.

“TNT’s drone camera is horrible,” another fan said. “Please never pan back to that.”

“Never ever ever do that drone view again, TNT,” a fan advised.

“Seriously who at TNT went ‘Yo I got this great idea for a drone camera that makes it look like you’re playing NBA Live 97’!'” another fan wondered.

A playoff game seems like an odd time for TNT to experiment with its presentation. One can also imagine a drone hovering over the court distracting players during a high-stakes contest. 

TNT might have seen all of the social-media criticism, as the broadcast didn’t go back to the drone in the third quarter. After losing Game 1 with Joel Embiid sidelined, Boston entered the final quarter up 27 despite the newly named MVP returning for Philade
