Brittney Griner’s salary for the 2023 WNBA season has been revealed.

The former Baylor Bears star will be making just north of $150,000 for the upcoming season.

Griner has agreed to a one-year deal.

“Source confirms that Brittney Griner has re-signed with the Phoenix Mercury. Deal is one year, protected, $165,100. Precisely calculated to leave Phoenix just enough for two vet minimums and two base minimums in their final four standard roster spots,” Richard Cohen reports.

Somewhat surprisingly, Griner did not receive the max.

“Somewhat reluctant to mention the optics of Griner signing for less and Taurasi getting maximum. Parker took 100K, others took less than max…this has been an interesting offseason,” one fan wrote.

“how did they not give her the supermax….” one fan added.

“Me, personally? I would’ve done everything in my power to ensure that BG was earning the supermax and not any other player on that roster… but that’s just ME,” another fan wrote.

What do you think of Brittney’s contract?
