Draymond Green has been suspended for Game 3 between the Warriors and Kings after stepping on the chest of Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis.

According to NBA Executive Vice President Joe Dumars, the decision to give Green a one-game ban did not stem solely from his actions on Monday.

““Here’s what it came down to: Excessive and over-the-top actions, conduct detrimental and a repeat offender. That’s what separates this where you end up with a suspension,” Dumars told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Dumars’ quotes have elicited plenty of reaction from the NBA Twittersphere.

“Speaking honestly I don’t think the stomp itself was worthy of a suspension. Think the NBA agrees but the whole riling up the crowd and the fact that the NBA is just sick of his s–t pushed it over the edge,” said one fan.

“Repeat offender is soooo nasty lmao,” another fan added.

“There’s a developing conspiracy theory that the NBA has a pro-Sacramento Kings bias because Dumars was once an advisor to the team. I love the NBA, man,” said Pacers podcaster Dave Searle.

“Idk why anyone surprised. Suspensions in most sports are handed out in similar fashion. Action + history typically equals suspension or no suspension,” another fan added.

“Draymond is being treated like a criminal by the NBA. Only in the criminal justice system does your criminal history matter or have any significance in the eventual outcome of your criminal case. I never knew that the NBA had a three strikes law. This is disgraceful,” a Warriors fan countered.

“I think it’s hilarious Detroit Pistons Bad Boys member Joe Dumars now hands out punishment for s–t like this. The repeat offender thing is chef’s kiss,” said filmmaker Randy Wilkins.

Game 3 of Kings-Warriors is set for tomorrow night.

Sacramento leads the first-round series 2-0.
