Unless the Los Angeles Lakers are ready to do something historic, the Western Conference Finals are effectively over now.
The Staples Center started clearing out with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter after the Denver Nuggets took an 11-point lead. They went on to win the game ___, taking a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals.
No team in NBA history has ever overcome a 3-0 deficit in a Conference Finals. While LeBron James famously led the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA title after overcoming a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals, he’s never overcome a 3-0 deficit.
The wider sports world is also ready to accept that the Lakers are done and while Nuggets fans are celebrating, Lakers fans are already pointing fingers at the culprits.

For the Denver Nuggets and former MVP Nikola Jokic, they’re just one win away from the first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history. And with the way things are trending, they might have the 8-seeded Miami Heat on the agenda.
As for the Lakers, who knows where they go from here after this series is over. They still have Game 4 at the Staples Center to play but chances are the energy is going to be so bad that they’ll just give up and take the sweep.
The next few days and the weeks after that are going to be very interesting.
