Brittney Griner’s life is finally returning to normalcy.
The veteran WNBA forward is getting back to work on the basketball court and her efforts are paying off.
Griner has signed one-year deal with the Phoenix Mercury.
A huge step forward for Griner, who spent most of 2022 in Russian detainment.
“Breaking: Brittney Griner has signed a one-year deal with the Phoenix Mercury, sources confirmed to ESPN,” ESPN said.
“Source confirms that Brittney Griner has re-signed with the Phoenix Mercury. Deal is one year, protected, $165,100. Precisely calculated to leave Phoenix just enough for two vet minimums and two base minimums in their final four standard roster spots. #WNBA #WNBAFreeAgency,” Richard Cohen said.
“Her first game back will be a sellout,” another fan wrote.
“#Mercury also re-sign Brittney Griner as expected, a year after her detainment in Russia … Griner said upon her release that she would re-sign with Mercury,” Jeff Metcalfe said.
The plan all along was for Brittney Griner to re-sign with the Phoenix Mercury. Now it’s official.
The Phoenix Mercury will have plenty of television viewers next season.
