With the WNBA season a little over two months away, Brittney Griner is spending most of her days at the Phoenix Mercury’s practice facility.
On Wednesday, the Mercury shared a video of Griner embracing Suns star Durant along with the caption, “All love between BG x KD. It’s a new damn in the desert.”
Basketball fans are loving this interaction between Griner and Durant.
“This is awesome,” a basketball fan tweeted.
“Game recognize game,” another fan wrote.
“Brittney Griner being at eye level with Kevin Durant is WILD,” a Twitter user added.
Durant is set to make his debut with the Suns this evening. He was acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Nets.
As for Griner, she’ll make her return to the WNBA on May 19. She last played for the Mercury in 2021.
Griner has averaged 17.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game over the course of her career with the Mercury.
