During this Wednesday’s edition of Undisputed, Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless suggested that Zion Williamson and the Pelicans are at odds.
Williamson has been sidelined since Jan. 2 due to a hamstring injury. It was recently announced that he’s not ready to return to the hardwood.
According to Bayless, the Pelicans are concerned Williamson may be receiving the wrong advice from his family.
“Zion’s independent team of medical people say he’s only 99 percent and they don’t want to completely clear him until he’s 100 percent ready to go,” Bayless said. “Team management is increasingly at odds with Zion’s stepfather, who is sort of running the show for the Zion camp.
“The stepfather is increasingly unhappy with the team because it continues to exercise the clause in his contract that on a monthly basis they can weigh him.”‘

It’s worth noting that one of Williamson’s teammates, Larry Nance, called out this report from Bayless.
“No one in our locker room is looking at Z any type of way,” Nance said. “We’re with him every step of his rehab, and support his process, physically AND mentally! Don’t listen to people saying things just to get views.”

The Pelicans will be without Williamson for the play-in tournament.
Even if the Pelicans clinch the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, it’s unlikely Williamson suits up for the first round of the postseason.
