Joel Embiid is going to miss today’s Game 4 against the Brooklyn Nets with a knee injury, but today’s game seems to be the least of the Philadelphia 76ers’ worries.

Embiid underwent an MRI on the knee, and his head coach says the results were not encouraging.

Sixers coach Doc Rivers says Embiid’s MRI “did not turn out well,” owing to both pain and swelling behind his knee.

“It feels like whenever they tell a coach we’re going to get an MRI it doesn’t turn out well most of the time, and this one did not,” Rivers said.

The sports world is reacting to the latest update on Embiid.

“I feel absolutely awful for Joel Embiid,” one fan said. “This is horrible. Dude has had the best season of his career.”

“Think we may have seen the last playoff series win of the Joel Embiid era in Philly,” another fan said.

“Same script every year,” another fan said. “This is why I avoid fully investing myself in this team now.”

“Another playoffs where Embiid is injured by the time the second round is ready to start,” another fan said. “Idk bout y’all but I’m absolutely stunned.”

The Sixers should be able to manage to advance out of the first round as they hold a 3-0 lead over the Nets, but without Embiid, their chances of going further than that seem low.
