The Dallas Mavericks collapsed down the stretch this season and now are on the verge of staying home for the playoffs.

Dallas’ present is gloomy, and there are reportedly concerns about the team’s future and whether star Luka Doncic is in it for the long haul.

ESPN’s Tim McMahon says the Mavericks are afraid if they do not experience a turnaround next year, Doncic will look to leave.

“Team sources have acknowledged to ESPN that fear exists that Doncic, who publicly and privately expressed extreme frustration this season, could consider requesting a trade as soon as the summer of 2024 if Dallas doesn’t make significant progress by then,” McMahon wrote.

Not surprisingly, a lot of the social media reaction to McMahon’s report includes fans of other teams trying to woo the Slovenian playmaker to their side.

“He’s coming home,” said a Magic fan, including a photoshop of Luka in an Orlando jersey alongside the team’s rookie star Paolo Banchero.

“It’s time to come home @luka7doncic,” added a Knicks fan who shared a photo of a young Luka in a Carmelo Anthony shirsey.

“Why wait? Do it now. Let Havoc happen!!!” chimed in a Lakers fan.

“They should’ve feared that from the day they drafted him. But instead they decided to half ass build a team for half a decade,” added a Mavericks fan.

“We MOVE!” said a Heat fan who added in a Doncic Miami photoshop.

With his 2022-23 season likely over, Doncic finished with averages of 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game.

The Mavericks (38-43) have lost 17 of their last 24 games heading into tomorrow’s regular season finale.
