On Tuesday night, LeBron James officially became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. Roughly 24 hours later, he received a shoutout from former President Barack Obama.
Though it shouldn’t really surprise any of us given their preexisting relationship, Obama is very proud of James’ latest accomplishment.
“@KingJames has been changing the game for 20 years, and has become a leader on and off the court,” Obama tweeted. “Congrats on making history.”
This post from Obama received countless replies from the NBA world.
“Legendary,” one fan said.
“Congratulations! We love you for being a mighty leader in more ways than one! Continue following your purpose and God will continue blessing you!! King James reigns,” another fan replied.
James will be back in action this Thursday evening against the Bucks. He’ll have a chance to separate himself even further from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
At the moment, James has 38,390 career points in the regular season.
