The Phoenix Suns ownership needed just a few days to decide to move on from head coach Monty Williams.
Earlier this week the Suns dropped Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets and were eliminated from playoff contention. Days later, the team fired Williams following his fourth season with the team.
In those four seasons, Williams led the team to an NBA Finals appearance and made the playoffs each of the past three seasons. Needless to say fans were a little surprised to see the Suns move on from the head coach.
“No sport fires more good coaches than the NBA,” radio host Colin Cowherd said.

“Why Monty taking the fall for a team that depleted their depth for an aging star???” another asked.
“No coach is safe,” added a third.
Williams was a two-time NBA Coach of the Year, but clearly the Suns ownership decided it was the right time to make a move.
