The NBA career of the Victor Wembanyama has officially begun.
Last Thursday, the San Antonio Spurs drafted the 7-foot-5 french phenom with the No.1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
The 19-year-old is the most hyped prospect since LeBron James when the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted the star No.1 overall in the 2003 NBA Draft.
On Wednesday, the Spurs announced the summer league plans for Wembanyama.
“The Spurs say Victor Wembanyama will join their summer league team in Las Vegas but will not travel for the two games in Sacramento beforehand next week,” NBA insider Marc Stein tweeted. “San Antonio’s first summer league game is July 7 against Charlotte.”

Wembanyama is the third No.1 overall pick in Spurs history after Tim Duncan and David Robinson, both of whom went on to have excellent careers under legendary head coach Gregg Popovich.
We’ll see if Wembanyama can follow suit with a great career himself. He certainly is entering the league with high expectations.
