Spurs Reportedly Making Notable Staff Addition To Help Victor Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama is having someone close to him join the San Antonio Spurs staff.

Per French outlet L’Equipe, the Spurs are adding Wembanyama’s French trainer Guillaume Alquier. They want their new superstar to be at ease heading into his first full NBA season.

The two had a good relationship overseas this past season and it led to Wembanyama not missing a game for his team.

Whatever his trainer is doing, it’s working.

Wembanyama was the top overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and is expected to be the next “big thing” in the NBA.

He’ll be coached by Gregg Popovich, who’s one of the best coaches in the NBA and will try and help the Spurs get back to contending.

The Spurs haven’t made the playoffs since the 2018-19 season.
