Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has been told he is just two more signings away from “having a right go at Man City and Liverpool ” in the Premier League next season.

The Italian led Spurs’ Premier League charge last season as they managed to qualify for the Champions League ahead of north London rivals Arsenal. And talkSPORT pundit Dean Saunders believes the club can push on and challenge for next season’s Premier League title with just a couple more new signings.

It comes as Leeds United winger Raphinha’s stance on a switch to Spurs has been revealed. And Fabio Paratici could secure £60m Christian Eriksen replacement for Antonio Conte with the signing of Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

Spurs ‘two signings away’

Dean Saunders believes Tottenham Hotspur are close to challenging Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title next season.

Spurs have already welcomed Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma to the club as they made a quick start to their summer transfer window business. The club reportedly have a huge transfer budget of £150m following investment by the club’s owners, and Saunders says Conte should be targeting “another world-class centre-back” as well as Middlesbrough full-back Djed Spence to become title contenders.

And according to the talkSPORT pundit, those signings as well as SPurs’ “relentless” manager Antonio Conte can help lead them towards title contention next year.

Raphinha stance revealed

Leeds United winger Raphinha is determined to wait for a transfer to Barcelona to materialise rather than take advantage in interest in him from Spurs.

The Brazilian has reportedly been targeted by Spanish giants Barca, although they had hoped Leeds would be relegated so that his release clause would kick in. But after they survived relegation on the final day of the Premier League season, the Elland Road outfit are under less pressure to sell their talisman.

With Barca struggling financially the Spanish outfit are reluctant to meet Leeds United’s £60million valuation of the player, leading to reports that Spurs could swoop in. But the player has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp, dealing a blow to Tottenham’s hopes of signing him.

Spurs ‘tracking’ Paqueta

Tottenham are reportedly ‘tracking’ Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

According to football.london, Spurs could swoop for the Brazilian should they miss out on bringing Christian Eriksen back to the club this summer. While recent reports have suggested Manchester United have made contact with Eriksen’s representatives, it is claimed Spurs are yet to do so “and this makes a return seem less likely”.

And that could be because they like the versatility Paqueta would offer, and they could move for the Lyon midfielder a £60m move.
