The incident happened after the third umpire ruled in favour of the LSG bowler Avesh Khan, when the visitors reviewed a no-ball given by the on-field umpire for a waist-high full-toss delivered to Abdul Samad.
It enraged the fans as well as SRH batter Heinrich Klaasen, who went to the umpire to protest against the decision in an animated fashion.
Reacting to a tweet that said an object was thrown at the LSG dugout, Rhodes wrote: “Not at the dugout, but at the players. They hit Prerak Mankad on the head while he was fielding at long-on. #noton”
LSG squad members were seen pointing at the crowd from where the fans reporteldy threw nuts and bolts, resulting in the game to be halted.
During the mid-innings interview, Klaasen expressed his disappointment on the decision as well as the way the crowd reacted to the decision.
“Disappointed of the crowd to be honest, that’s not what you want. That also broke the momentum, not great umpiring either,” Klassen said.

Opting to bat first, SRH put on a total of 182/6 in their 20 overs but LSG managed to overhaul the target with Mankad’s 64 not out off 45 balls, Marcus Stoinis’s 40 off 25 balls and Nicholas Pooran’s blistering 44 not out in just 13 balls for a seven-wicket win.
