Umran Malik (2 wickets) and Fazalhaq Farooqi (3 wickets) are the only two bowlers, who have taken wickets across two games but haven’t managed to be the lead bowlers. Spinner Adil Rashid gained form as he picked 2/23 after going wicketless in the first game.

PBKS injury update Punjab Kings have some injury concerns as Liam Livingstone is yet to join the side as he is undergoing rehabilitation and will join next week. Kagiso Rabada is available for selection on completion of national duty while Bhanuka Rajapaksa also is fit and likely to play the game. The Sri Lankan batter was hit on the hand at the non-striker end in the last game and couldn’t bat beyond that.

PBKS key players: Shikhar Dhawan (86) and Prabhsimran Singh headline Punjab batting after sublime knocks in the last game. Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s return is also crucial as the southpaw scored a crucial half-century in their opening game. Wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma has played good cameos in the middle order as well and appears eager to fire big.

Shahrukh Khan and Sam Curran have played the role of finisher well but the latter didn’t do the best of work with the ball yet. His death bowling remains crucial, something that Arshdeep Singh couldn’t do in the last game. The left-handed pacer is the strike bowler for PBKS with five wickets in two games but proved a bit expensive in the death overs.

Nathan Ellis took charge with the ball as he took four wickets against RR, leaving Kagiso Rabada’s selection difficult. Harpreet Brar, Sikandar Raza, Rishi Dhawan, and Rahul Chahar are yet to make a telling impact among spinners.
