Twitter user @bindasfauji posted a clip that shows a woman struggling to climb stairs along with her luggage. She was snubbed by civilians when she asked for help but men dressed in military uniform eventually came to her aid. He wrote, “Rest Assured India . . .Fauj will never let u down and will always stand by you! Jai hind!” The video drew over 4 lakh views.
News portal The New Indian’s Executive Editor Rohan Dua also posted this video with a similar claim. His tweet gained over 1,500 retweets.

Video verification
This is yet another instance when a staged video was believed to be true on social media. This video was posted by an actor named Priya on her verified Facebook profile and gained over 52 million views.
The text on the opening 10 seconds of the video reads, “This pregnant lady is struggling to take steps and this happened.”
Upon clicking ‘see more’, the caption further read, “Thank you for watching! Please be aware that this page features scripted dramas and parodies as well. These short films are for entertainment & educational purposes only!”
This disclaimer also appears towards the end at the bottom of the screen, even though it is barely readable. One of the key reasons why such videos gain high views is because they are shared as genuine CCTV footage.
The video is thus, staged.
