Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the upcoming action-adventure title by Respawn Entertainment could have a release date of March 2023.
The possible release date comes via Twitter user PlayStation Game Size, who is well known for leaking release dates, updates, game sizes, and more via the official PlayStation database. Shortly after a store page for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was created, PlayStation Game Size discovered a release date “for early March 2023 (maybe later February)” on the PSN database.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a sequel to Respawn’s hugely popular Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which was released for console and PC back in 2019. Fans have known of the existence of a sequel since the beginning of this year, when Respawn confirmed the next entry in the series was in development.
Then, towards the end of May, the first official teaser trailer was shown to the world with the only release window being ‘2023’. The trailer didn’t show any gameplay, but the official description does state that the story will pick up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and continue the story of the first game’s protagonist, Cal Kestis.
Respawn Entertainment appear to have their hands full when it comes to Star Wars titles, as Jedi: Survivor isn’t the only upcoming game the team has in development. Although details are currently sparse, the studio is also developing a first-person shooter game within the Star Wars universe, as well as a new strategy game.
The news of the upcoming Star Wars projects was confirmed earlier this year by EA, who said that work has already begun on all three of the games. Peter Hirschmann, the game director at Respawn Entertainment said that “working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true”.
A release window for the upcoming FPS and strategy games was not announced, but fans can expect Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to be released for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2023.
