Just Stop Oil protesters stormed the stage during Friday night’s edition of Channel 4 comedy show The Last Leg.
The eco-activists set off an orange confetti explosion before they were removed from the stage by security. Star Josh Widdicombe joked: “I was relieved it was Just Stop Oil as we slagged off Putin last week.”
His co-star Alex Brooker whooped and cheered as the protesters gave the show’s hosts orange high-vis vests. However, lead presenter Adam Hills insisted the stunt – that happened just as the show got started – had not been staged.
And the host also said he wouldn’t mind if they came every week. He said: “If that’s what every Just Stop Oil protest is like I’m down with it.
“If it’s people coming out smiling and throwing orange confetti, absolutely bring it on. Know when to get the **** off, but do you know what that’s great. Can we do that every week?”
It comes after Just Stop Oil sparked condemnation from audience members at Royal Albert Hall when, earlier that evening, they rushed onto the stage on the opening night of the BBC Proms.
