Christmas is just a few days away and Starz has given Outlander fans an early present with confirmation that season seven is on the way. The streaming service confirmed in April that filming had begun on the new episodes but all went quiet on exactly when subscribers can expect the new series to premiere. Now, Starz has provided an update on when Outlander will be returning to tell the next chapter in Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser’s (Caitriona Balfe) love story.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Outlander.
Outlander is the international hit period drama based on the best-selling books of the same name by Diana Gabaldon which have sold around 50 million copies across the globe.
So far, Gabaldon has published nine books in the Outlander series with each TV season based on one of her novels.
When it was announced the drama would be back for a seventh outing, it was revealed that the plotlines would come from the sixth and seventh book in the series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes and An Echo in the Bone.
There has been radio silence up for the past months in terms of when viewers can devour the latest series and the streamer, just beore the end of the year, has given a taste of when to expect season seven.
For those living in America, when Outlander does return, Starz will continue to be the epic drama’s home.
But it will be a slightly different story for those who reside in the UK as the show was previously on Starzplay.
Since season six, Starzplay has been rebranded as Lionsgate+ which is where subscribers are going to be able to watch what happens next to Jamie and Claire.
For £5.99 per month, subscribers can have access not only to Outlander but to other shows like Becoming Elizabeth, Gaslit and The Serpent Queen.
