Warriors superstar Steph Curry and Chris Paul have a long and complicated history as rival point guards in the West. But the Dubs’ captain is saying all the right things going into the offseason.
Speaking to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Steph admitted:
“You hate losing [Jordan Poole]… That’s the tough part of the business, seeing a young guy come into his own [and then get traded]… But we’re trying to win next year and Chris Paul can help.”

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also broke his silence on the CP3 trade. Admitting:
We sensed we needed a shift. Didn’t mean we needed an overhaul, but we needed a shift of some sort. I think everybody in the organization sensed that. And it feels like we’ve made a pretty significant shift without giving up our identity and our sense of who we are as a team. I think, all in all, it’s a very positive shift.
Golden State dealt Poole to the Wizards in exchange for Paul, with Washington also receiving a 2030 protected first-round pick, a 2027 second-round pick and guard Ryan Rollins.
