For the Golden State Warriors, it was a sad day.
Bob Myers announced his intentions to step down from his role as President and General Manager of the organization during a press conference on Tuesday.
Stephen Curry, in response, posted a heartfelt message to Myers after the news surfaced on social media.
The Instagram post included pictures of moments between Curry and Myers over the years.
“Before the trophies and the memories over this run, I remember I told you ‘you better get it right!’ And you did,” Steph said in a message. “The GM role was great and you did your thing, but Forever grateful for you as a friend forever. Changed each other’s lives! Enjoy the next chapter my guy.”

Since becoming the Warriors general manager in 2012, Myers became a two-time executive of the year and formed teams strong enough to win four NBA championships during six NBA Finals appearances.
It was Myers’ idea also to recruit and sign All-Star Kevin Durant during 2016 free agency to join Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green as one of the most dominant offenses in NBA history.
If Myers does return to the league as an executive, he will certainly be sought after.
