Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha, says she’s taking a step back from attempting to become a television personality after a series of failed ventures into the medium.
She cites an episode of Jada Pinkett Smith’s recently-canceled show, Red Table Talk, among the reasons for her desire to depart from television.
Curry took issue with how her comments on the show were represented, explaining in an interview with Insider that she was taken out of context.
“(The show) was edited in a way that made me sound crazy,” she said. “It’s not what I said, and the context was weird. Yeah. I took that one personally.”
In her appearance on Red Table Talk, Curry went into detail about feelings of insecurity in her marriage and wanting attention after having a child.
“Stephen is very nice by nature, and he’s very talkative,” Curry said about her husband in the episode of the show that aired in 2019.
“Everything is always very friendly and sometimes to the point where I’m like, ‘I’m a grown woman, so I’ll just insert myself.’ I’ll be like, ‘Hello. How are you doing?’
Since electing to leave the media space, Curry says she’s focusing on personal wellness, charity work and entrepreneurship.
“I had some bad experiences, and they scared me away,” she said.
“But now I’ve found one that I love, and I actually look forward to it.”
