The New York Knicks were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs on Friday night, falling to the Miami Heat in six games in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

By all accounts, it was a successful season for the Knicks, who went on their furthers playoff run in a decade.

New acquisition Jalen Brunson blossomed into a star during the season and did all he could to lift the Knicks over the Heat, but the task of winning three straight games after falling down 3-1 in the series was too much to bear.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, one of the world’s biggest Knicks fans, took to social media to give his thoughts on the team’s exit from the playoffs – and the one player he’d like to see them go after in the offseason.

Smith says he’d like to see the Knicks acquire Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.

“Jalen Brunson, spectacular,” Smith said. “But he was the only one who showed up!”

“It’s time to trade Julius Randle. It’s time for him to go,” Smith added. “I want Damian Lillard. I don’t care what you gotta do to get him, I want Damian Lillard.”

Lillard has constantly affirmed his loyalty to Portland throughout his career, so it seems unlikely that the Knicks would find a way to acquire him – much to the dismay of Stephen A.
