In what was one of the most infamous Premier League moments of all-time, Gerrard’s slip allowed Demba Ba to break through and score the opening goal at Anfield as Chelsea took the lead, and Liverpool failed to recover.
If Gerrard hadn’t of slipped, Liverpool may have gone on to win the game, and the Reds would’ve then had enough points to win the Premier League title, but Manchester City won the league by two points.
Gerrard never managed to win the title he desired so much with his boyhood club, and came agonisingly close via this slip, which has haunted him ever since.
However, Gerrard did manage his first league title with Rangers, and became an instant hero amongst the blue half of Glasgow as he led his side to their 55th crown, doing so without a single defeat.
