Instead, Vanita recommends focusing your efforts on the arch. “A low arch will create a flatter look, so when shaping a straight brow at home, try to avoid plucking the extra hairs just underneath the arch,” she adds.
Better yet, visit a qualified brow expert as this will minimise the risk of throwing the shape off.

How to fake straight brows
There’s another option you may also wish to pursue. For her BAFTAS 2023 look, Florence opted for a modern variation of the ‘Audrey brow’ – a thick, straight brow originally debuted by Audrey Hepburn – created using a spoolie, loaded with concealer, to cover up the tails of her brows.
“We did a super-classic make-up, but I covered the ends of Florence’s brows & moved them into a more “Audrey” position to complement @peterluxhair’s short fringe/bangs,” her makeup artist Alex Babsky explained.
It’s also a great way to test the straight brows trend before fully committing to the look. “Use concealer to draw around the brow and outline the shape you wish to create,” says Vanita, who recommends the BBB Conceal & Lift Matte Highlighting Concealer for the job. “You can also conceal the arch and tail end of the eyebrows so they appear straighter.”
Then use an ultra slim pencil to etch hair-like strokes onto the skin under your arch before a brow gloss “slicked up and then across” acts as a fixative to contour your brows.

What face shape looks good with straight eyebrows?
“A flatter brow helps to shorten a longer, oblong face shape – think Lily James,” Vanita says. “Those with round faces or heart-shaped faces, however, tend to suit a high arch in the style of Marilyn Monroe.”
