Strictly dancers mark Remembrance Sunday with emotional performance

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left wiping the tears from their eyes following the BBC One shows spectacular tribute on Remembrance Day.

The professional dancers put on an incredible performance to You’ll Never Walk Alone in honour of the special date – and the production sent audiences into meltdown.

The final moments of the performance saw the stage being transformed into a field of poppies as the dancers paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the war.

“Wow Strictly’s Remembrance Day dance was amazing. I’m not okay after that,” gushed one viewer.

“Bawling my eyes out at the final minutes of that dance,” another echoed.

“Wasn’t expecting to cry in the first four minutes of Strictly tonight, but alas, here I am with a tissue,” someone else quipped.

“Strictly really pulling at the heart strings this weekend. First Rose and Giovanni’s dance and now this,” another Strictly fan pointed out.

While a fifth gushed: “They literally couldn’t have done that any better. Incredible.”

Tonight’s results show also saw pop star James Blunt perform in front of the Strictly audience as his voice left them with chills.

The two spine-tingling performances came after Strictly professional Giovanni Pernice and EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Eillis received rave reviews from the judges and auidences at home following their ‘silent’ dance on Saturday night.

The pair performed their Couple’s Choice dance to Symphony by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

The emotional routine featured a ‘silent moment’ in reference to Rose being deaf, and it certainly touched the judges and those watching at home.

Judge Anton Du Beke’s voice broke as he attempted to give the couple some feedback.

He began: “You get moments like this and I’ve been doing the show since the beginning and we’ve had the great pleasure and honour of being on Strictly Come Dancing for a long time. I’m getting a bit emotional.

“And, that’s the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in the show. Congratulations,” he added, trying to hold it together.

Head judge Shirley Ballas told Rose: “I feel, first of all, I should stand up out of respect for you sharing, particularly the silent moment, because I was not expecting it and it takes you into a much deeper place.







The pair left audiences in tears



“I’m sure the deaf community will be absolutely so proud of you for sharing your heart and for being so true and for people seeing that a beautiful young lady like you can be so successful.

“This is a number that will be etched in my heart for a long, long time. It was absolutely beautiful,” she said.

It was an incredibly emotional weekend on Strictly all round.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One.
