Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones has addressed claims she threatened to quit the show in a furious rant.
The Russian dancer, who joined the Strictly cast in 2016, was voted off the hit BBC show last weekend after she and celebrity partner Adam Peaty failed to impress the judges during the dance off.
Reports emerged that Katya had thrown a “tantrum” backstage and threatened to walk out for good.
But the star has denied the claims, saying she cares ‘passionately’ about her job and is not going anywhere.
Following reports of the alleged outburst, she took to Instagram to say that she felt “forced into publicly defending myself”.

“I am a professional dancer on a TV show doing my job which I care passionately about. I’m not quitting, I’ve not had a tantrum. I love the show and I shall keep dancing”.
This is not the first time Katya has faced controversy since joining the show.
She was infamously embroiled in a cheating scandal, causing her and now ex-husband and fellow professional dancer Neil Jones to split in 2018, when she was pictured kissing her then-Strictly partner Seann Walsh on a night out.

Earlier in this years’ competition the star was also said to have nearly ‘kissed’ celebrity partner Adam during their rendition of the Argentine Tango.
The pair have denied the claims, with Adam’s girlfriend Eirianedd Munro taking to TikTok to make light of the rumours.
Katya joined the show five years ago when she was first partnered with politician Ed Balls, where the pair made it to Week 10 of the competition before being eliminated in a dance-off against Judge Robert Rinder and Oksana Platero.

This year the competition has been tougher than ever, with record-breaking high scores being awarded early.
Adam and Katya were eliminated in Week Seven of the competition, leaving seven couples remaining to fight it out for the Glitterball trophy.
Current favourites to win are Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis, who face stiff competition from AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington and Strictly’s first all-male pairing, John Whaite and Johannes Radebe.
