And while he was gutted to be leaving Strictly, Adam admitted to feeling mental and physical fatigue during the weeks he competed on the ballroom show, which is why he went on to deem his exit as “bittersweet”.
He recalled his lengthy practising hours while speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, adding that he was overcome with sadness over missing out on the chance to perform a Paso Doble.
But he did get to return home to his family, which felt just as good after feeling depleted from the hectic schedule he’d been under for well over a month.
“Honestly, it’s bittersweet because I came out and I wanted to do the Paso, for example, but I get to do other things like spend more time at home with my family and I hope to do more stuff hopefully inspiring people with my book.”
He continued: “There’s so much going on. I’m not a negative person.”
Strictly returns Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
