Shirley Ballas has shared she is “beyond excited” to become a grandmother for the first time.
The Strictly Come Dancing head judge took to Twitter to react as her son Mark Ballas, 37, announced he is expecting his first baby with wife BC Jean, 36.
Shirley retweeted the couple’s video sharing the news this evening.
She wrote: “Well what can I say… I am beyond excited about this beautiful announcement.
“I’m on a high. Nanny Shirley is more than ready to join in all these memories. @BCJean @MarkBallas Xxx.”
Shirley’s only son Mark and his singer-songwriter wife posted a sweet social media video to confirm the pregnancy.
Mark, who rose to fame on Dancing With The Stars, posted a clip of what the couple had been up to lately.
They divulged: “Lately we’ve been…making new music, making birthday wishes, went to Disneyland, made more music stuff, turned off our phones and went to the beach, car rides with our best mate, Boba tea, made more music,”
Towards the end of the video, the pair posed for a mirror selfie unveiling the American star’s blossoming baby bump.
A caption explained: “Also… we’ve been making a tiny human.”
The video concluded with a message reading: “Coming soon.”
Shirley’s son Mark and BC also work together through their band, Alexander Jean.
However, they haven’t released new material recently, with their most recent update being their baby news.
The couple have been married since 2016.
Shirley shares Mark with her ex-husband and fellow professional dancer Corky Ballas, with whom she split from in 2007.
Mark recently announced his retirement from Dancing With The Stars.
The pro dancer had just won his third mirrorball trophy with TikTok star Charli D’Amelio before leaving the Strictly spin-off show.
