The N Vision 74 Concept bowed less than a year ago at Italy’s Turin Motor Show, and was directly inspired by the 1974 Pony Coupe styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The new car, not by coincidence, was designed by Giorgetto’s son Fabrizio. Now, Money Today says Hyundai plans to host a “Pony Day” at its Seoul design studio, May 27. It goes on to say Hyundai will share news that it’s planning on building the car and show off a production version.
The hiccup? Money Today doesn’t cite sources in detail, simply indicating it got its info from undisclosed industry sources.

Canadian International Auto Show: Hyundai N Vision 74
The N Vision 74 website says the concept was imagined as a hydrogen-powered machine, specifically saying “Hyundai will lead hydrogen technology into high performance.” As we’ve shared through numerous articles and videos here at Driving, hydrogen can definitely maybe work, but its implementation in Canada is moving forward at a snail’s pace.
There’s no shortage of impressive engines in Hyundai’s house of horsepower; the automaker could flip the production “Pony Coupe” into an EV and give it the Kia EV6 GT’s powertrain set-up, for example. Or it could knock on the penthouse door and borrow the Genesis G90’s engine, if it wanted to go the gasoline route.

I mean, let’s be frank, with only a handful of places to fill a hydrogen tank for automobiles in Canada at the moment, I think I might just be onto something.
With crisp, yet polarizing looks; a balance of retro and modern design; and the whole thing swimming in a sea of parametric pixels, the N Vision 74 is definitely a head-turner, and we’re anxiously awaiting the end of the month to hear what lies in store for its future. All we know for now is that Hyundai is getting ready to launch an Ioniq 5 N this July, complete with a rear wiper—and it could sure use a stable-mate.
