Some of the biggest names in snooker will be playing in the Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup over the summer, taking on some of the best 8-ball players in the process.
Ultimate Pool events have already attracted snooker players in the past and the likes of Mark Selby, Mark Allen, Mark Williams and Tom Ford are all coming back for more this summer, with Allen and Ford even teaming up.
Kyren Wilson, Dave Gilbert, Joe O’Connor and Ken Doherty are more stars of the green baize who are having a crack at the Pairs Cup.
It will not be easy for those more used to being at a snooker table, though, with a couple of the standout teams being Mick Hill & Karl Boyes and Chris Melling and Jake McCartney.
It is Selby and Gareth Potts who are defending champions, though, after beating Shaun Chipperfield and Karl Sutton in the final last time out.
The Jester from Leicester, remarkably, won snooker’s English Open title in December last year and then the Pairs Cup the following night.
The Pairs Cup gets underway on 12 June and there will be 16 weeks of group stages every Monday, shown live on ViaPlay Xtra and UltimatePool.TV.
The 16 winning pairs go through to four more weeks of a second group stage before finals night when the champions are crowned.
£10,000 is the top prize for the winning team, with the event held at Players Pool & Snooker Lounge in Newcastle Under Lyme and entry free for spectators.
Standout Pairings include
Gareth Potts & Mark Selby (7th August)
Mick Hill & Karl Boyes (14th August)
Mark J Williams & Curtis Lee (31 July)
Chris Melling & Jake McCartney (31 July)
Mark Allen & Tom Ford (28th August)
Ken Doherty & Neil Madigan (25th September)

Dave Gilbert & Kyle Cope (24th July)
Joe O Connor & Stevie O Connor (14th August)
