Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League delayed again to February 2024

Since the reports last month that Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League might be delayed again, fans have been waiting for any official word from Warner Bros and Rocksteady. And they finally got it via an official statement on Twitter.

The publishers have now decided that the new release date for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be February 2nd, 2024.

The statement reads, “We have made the tough but necessary decision to take the time needed to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players. Thank you to our amazing community for the continued support, patience, and understanding. There is much more to share in the months ahead and we look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year.”

This is the latest delay to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which had previously had a 2022 release date and a May 2023 release timeline.

The first we heard of the title being under pressure was in March when Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and Windows Central’s Jez Corden reported that after the February PlayStation State of Play gameplay showcase fans were feeling a certain way. It was reported that fans were a bit iffy about the live service model and battle pass cosmetics, drawing unfavourable comparisons to Marvel’s Avengers.

Despite the issues, Schreier insists that the delay will probably just be for standard polishing and that nine months is not enough to alter the game significantly.

Regardless, it seems like fans will have to wait until February 2024 before they can play it. And while the game is eagerly awaited by fans of the Batman Arkham games, it also has a sentimental value for fans as it features the final vocal performance of Kevin Conroy as Batman.
