Summerslam 2023: Spoiler on WWE Hall of Famer’s return in a special segment

According to the already reported update from insider source BWE, WWE was having discussions about Stone Cold Steve Austin making a comeback on TV to give a major rub to a young Superstar of the current roster.

No word was out regarding if this will be a match or just an in-ring segment in physical or non-physical capacity. In an update on this situation, Xero News reports that WWE wants Austin to appear on The Grayson Waller Effect at SummerSlam 2023.

For weeks now, Smackdown Superstar LA Knight was speculated to share the ring with the WWE Hall of Famer. But WWE plans on turning LA Knight babyface, and so they want to book the bonafide heel Waller in the segment, instead.

Grayson Waller has been on the WWE main roster since the WWE Draft in late April. At Money in the Bank 2023, he had a face-off with WWE Legend John Cena and got his attitude adjusted by the former WWE franchise player.

Then on the latest episode of SmackDown, Waller had WWE Hall of Famer Edge appear on his talk show, The Grayson Waller Effect. Later the night, Waller was defeated by Edge in his main roster in-ring debut.

Despite the loss, Waller was put over by Edge after the match for a reason. According to WRKD Wrestling, WWE Officials see big things, potential main-eventer qualities in the future of Waller.

“Grayson Waller is being set up for a big future. Many in creative feel that he has the tools, both wrestling and on the mic, to be a future main eventer for years to come.”

So, Waller is the most likely WWE Superstar who is scheduled to get the final rub from Stone Cold Steve Austin at the grandest stage of Summerslam 2023. More on the plans for this talk-show segment should be noted in the coming weeks.

Austin was originally slated to do something with LA Knight at WrestleMania 39 but the legend would eventually end up missing the show due to his filming schedule. Knight was also excluded from the card, thereafter.
