Sunday Brunch’s Simon Rimmer heartbroken as he announces death of his ‘hero’

Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer revealed the tragic news that his father, Peter, has died at the age of 90.

Taking to Twitter, where earlier this month he shared a heartwarming snap wishing his dad a Happy Father’s Day, the 60-year-old penned: “It’s with great sadness that I have to announce the death of my hero, my dad Peter.”

Simon was instantly inundated with condolences and heartfelt messages of support from fans, friends and colleagues alike.

On follower shared: “So sorry for your loss Simon. It’s devastating losing a parent x” as another sympathised: “Condolences to you and your family, Simon. I lost my father 25 years ago and still miss him terribly!”

Over on Instagram, where the Sunday Brunch star posted the same devastating statement, TV presenter Julia Bradbury reached out saying: “Ahhh so sorry to read this Simon. Can’t imagine your sadness, love to you and the family.”

Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison also shared her condolences writing: “So sorry for your loss Simon… sending you and your family loads of love x”
