The Phoenix Suns had a busy Sunday morning.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported multiple transactions, starting with Phoenix signing free-agent big man Bol Bol to a one-year deal. The Suns cleared a roster spot by trading a guard to the San Antonio Spurs.

Pheonix is sending Cameron Payne and a future second-round pick to San Antonio for a second.

Payne spent the last four seasons in Phoenix, where he averaged 9.8 points and 4.2 assists per game. The former No. 14 overall pick made a career-high 15 starts last season, but injuries limited him to 48 games played.

The Suns added another highly-paid star to their top-heavy roster by acquiring Bradley Beal earlier this offseason. Payne is set to make $6.5 million in the final year of his contract, and Phoenix likely doesn’t have the cap flexibility to keep him long-term.

Payne could carve out a larger role in San Antonio, which looks to expedite its rebuild around No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama. Turning 29 before the season starts, Payne will try to become a steadying veteran presence for the young team.

Per Wojnarowski, the Suns continued to collect draft picks by acquiring three second-rounders from the Orland Magic for a 2026 first-round swap.
