Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni somehow manages to keep a straight face after being asked whether the Super Bowl is a ‘MUST-WIN game’… as the Kansas City Chiefs showdown approaches

Sometimes head coaches field wild and incomprehensible questions from the media and Nick Sirianni handled one of those on Monday.

Sirianni was asked by a reporter at a Super Bowl opening day media event if Super Bowl LVII was a ‘must-win game’.

The coach addressed the question with a straight face, simply responding ‘Yeah’, before moving on.

On Tuesday, Sirianni answered more questions – discussing the poise of his quarterback, and the four veterans who played in the Eagles’ last Super Bowl appearance.

He praised QB Jalen Hurts’ drive and his ability to stay calm and in control of his emotions and the situation around him.

Nick Sirianni quickly answered a silly question if the Super Bowl is a ‘must-win game’

‘I think that’s just who he is. Regardless of his age, that’s just who he is as a competitor, as a player… I witness it everyday of him just not being caught up in any moment, and that speaks to who he is, how he was raised, and that he’s steady. So, it’s impressive to see,’ he said.

When it came to four vets who played in Super Bowl LII, Sirianni said the leadership qualities of Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, Brandon Graham, and Fletcher Cox helped to gel the team and train up the younger players.

Sirianni added: ‘They lead the way, not only in the standard of how to practice, how to meet, how to be a pro, how to take care of your body — like, this is unbelievable for a guy to have Jason Kelce for Cam Jurgens, that’s such an important thing for Cam and his development.

‘And it’s the same thing for Jordan Davis with Fletcher Cox. Got good leaders. Got good captains on this team leading the way.’

On the other side of the field, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes fielded questions about his ankle – which was sprained in the Divisional round against Jacksonville.

‘It’s definitely better,’ Mahomes said. ‘You never know exactly until you get to the game obviously, but it’s definitely in a better position than it was at this time before the last game.

‘We’ll keep pushing it but not doing too much ’cause you don’t want to have any setbacks, but I haven’t had any since the game at least.’
