“During the holiday season and in light of the challenging times, Marilee’s sole focus has remained on the overall best interest of her 9-year-old daughter [Sabine],” Fiebig’s attorney Stephanie Lehman said in a statement to the Daily Mail.

The lawyer added, “Notwithstanding, we continue to be disappointed by T.J’s lack of discretion, respect and sensitivity toward Marilee and the party’s daughter.”

Lehman said the pair are now working towards a quick and amicable divorce settlement.

“Marilee has been touched by the outpouring of support and looks forward to a new beginning in this new year,” she concluded.

Fiebig, 45, stayed quiet following news that Holmes and Robach were an item after the Daily Mail published photos of the two cavorting around New York City in late November. But one insider said she was “blindsided” by the affair.

“She’s devastated. She had no idea,” a confidant told Page Six. “They haven’t been together in [a while], but they were trying to work it out.”

A source told PEOPLE that Holmes “was unhappy in his marriage and had been for awhile.”

According to various media reporters, Robach and Holmes’ dalliance began in March when they were training for the New York City Half Marathon.

Before embarking on a romance with his GMA co-host, Holmes praised Robach’s relationship with her estranged husband Andrew Shue, saying the pair had a “love story like none other.”

Fiebig shared her support for Shue when she “liked” an Instagram photo uploaded by the Melrose Place star’s son Nate before the new year.

But Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, “are in love” and happy now that their romance is finally out in the open.

“They spent the holidays together and are spending all of their time together right now,” a source told PEOPLE after the couple holidayed in Florida. “They are fully in a relationship. They are not hiding anything at all because they have no reason to.”

As news of their affair overtook social media, Robach and Holmes were shelved from their hosting duties on GMA3: What You Need To Know.

After taking them off the air, ABC News President Kim Godwin told staffers that Robach and Holmes didn’t violate company policy, but confirmed their relationship had become “an internal and external disruption,” according to TMZ. Going forward, Godwin said she “wanted to do what’s best for the organization.”

But a source insisted the pair only started dating when they were single after both their relationships had crumbled.

“This was two consenting adults who were each separated. They both broke up with their spouses in August within weeks of each other. The relationship didn’t start until after that,” an insider told PEOPLE.

“She’s got nothing to hide. They were both separated so they felt very comfortable dating in the open after that. Their spouses had moved out, even! So they were not hiding anything.”

Meanwhile, an anniversary post from 2020 went viral last month in which Holmes admitted his estranged wife had “plenty of reasons” to leave their marriage before his affair.

T.J. Holmes joked about giving wife ‘reasons’ to leave on their 10-year anniversary.

“10 years ago, Marilee Fiebig married me,” wrote alongside a series of throwback photos of the couple in happier times. “And despite my best efforts, she remained married to me the past 10 years.

“That’s not hyperbole. I’m not being dramatic,” he continued. “I gave her plenty of reasons, excuses, and opportunities to walk her fine ass out the doooooooor.”
