Migos rapper Quavo was toe-to-toe with a group of people outside a Houston bowling alley early Tuesday morning, involved in a heated argument with his nephew Takeoff standing close by, seconds before gunfire erupted and Takeoff was fatally shot, new video shows.

Quavo can be heard calling somebody “disrespectful,” and a number of expletives also can be  heard in the video obtained by TMZ. The rapper mentioned “basketball” at least twice, though some reports said that the altercation outside the bowling alley broke out over a dice game Quavo, 31, and Takeoff, 28, were playing, the New York Post added.

One person, possibly Quavo or Takeoff, can be heard saying, “I don’t get down like that!” Someone in the crowd also can be heard saying, “Let it go, bro,” just before gunfire erupts, the Daily Mail added.

TMZ said that a single crack of gunfire sent everyone running in different directions, followed by a flurry of shots. TMZ said at least 10 more shots in quick succession can be heard amid the chaos, and it sounds like the shots came from at least two different weapons.

Takeoff, also a member of Migos, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was fatally wounded in the head or neck. At least two others also were injured, although not Quavo.

Additional video from TMZ showed that Quavo and others tried to move Takeoff’s body before they put him back down, shouted for help and desperately rendered aid. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene.

As Houston police continued to search for suspects in the shooting outside 810 Billiards and Bowling, Takeoff’s management company, Quality Control Music, issued a statement: “It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we confirm the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff.

“Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated,” the statement added.

The Grammy-nominated rapper had been at a private party at the bowling alley with his uncle, Quavo, where a group ended the evening by playing dice, according to reports.

At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Houston’s Police Chief Troy Finner said they believed the assailant was at the party with Takeoff, who he described as “very peaceful and loving.”

Authorities also said they have “no reason to believe he was involved in anything criminal” and confirmed that two firearms were used in the incident. The others injured in the shooting — a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman — were taken to hospital in private vehicles where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Takeoff was born in 1994 and grew up in the Atlanta suburbs, Rolling Stone said. He spent much of his childhood with Quavo and the third member of Migos, his cousin, Offset. The three started rapping together in 2008 under the name Polo Club. They eventually changed their name to Migos and released a debut mixtape, “Juug Season” in 2011, Rolling Stone said. The group cracked the mainstream in 2013 with their first major hit, “Versace.”

In 2016, they “became arguably the biggest rap group in the world” with their no. 1 hit “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, according to Rolling Stone.

Most of Takeoff’s discography was with Migos, but he released a solo album in 2018 titled “The Last Rocket,” Rolling Stone said. More recently, he and Quavo separated from Offset to record music as a duo. In October, they released their newest album, “Only Built For Infinity Links.”
