Taraji P. Henson’s Gold-Wrapped Topknot Looks so Delightfully Expensive

Taraji P. Henson is not known for keeping one hairstyle for too long. The TPH Hair founder loves experimenting with her look, whether it’s with a voluminous curly wig, small box braids in a high, twisted ponytail, or by letting her curls do their own thing — and we adore them all. The style we are obsessing over most recently is a kinky topknot wrapped in gold.

Henson posted a photo of the gravity-defying hairstyle on Instagram for her 18 million-plus fans to marvel at. In it, the Washington, D.C.-bred actor is seated while wearing a printed Versace blouse with an icy silver necklace and big hoop earrings. Hairstylist Sharif Poston slicked back her hair and twisted it into a high messy bun with some minimal baby hairs. There’s not a single strand of hair out of place, so whatever gel he used had a strong hold.

For her makeup, artist Saisha Beecham put in work for this glam look. Her lids are coated in what appears to be a light pink or peach pigment. Her lashes are long and wispy, so we’re wondering what falsies were used to achieve this look. Beecham painted Henson’s lips in a glossy watermelon pigment that we love.
