The two women labelled Andrew Tate’s “lieutenants” have been revealed as fellow suspects following the online personality’s stunning arrest on December 30 after his Twitter spat with Greta Thunberg.
The glamorous pair — dubbed “Tate’s Angels” — include Tate’s girlfriend Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, a former Romanian police officer.
Naghel, 28, is a US citizen and is described as a businesswoman and influencer.
She is believed to have been in a relationship with Tate for nearly a year.
Radu, 32, used to work at a police station in Bucharest but quit for a career in video chat rooms.
The Romanian organised crime agency DIICOT released a statement saying all four — Tate, Naghel, Radu and Tate’s brother Tristan — would be held for 30 days during an investigation.
It said the quartet were arrested on charges of being part of an organised crime group, human trafficking and rape.
The agency wrote that women were recruited, then subjected to “acts of physical violence and mental coercion” and forced to perform pornographic acts to reap “financial benefits”.
Prosecutors said they found six women following the arrest who allegedly had been sexually exploited by the suspects.
The Daily Mail said Naghel and Radu are sharing the same cell at the decrepit Bucharest Police Detention Centre.
Tate and his brother are also sharing a cell at the same centre, which is said to be crawling with cockroaches.
The prison is a massive step down from the life all four regularly showed off on social media.
A police source told The Daily Mail the Naghel and Radu acted as Tate’s “trusted lieutenants and his angels”.
“They are an important part of the crimes that took place because they made sure that the women being held against their will did as they were told,” the source said.
“The Tate brothers financially benefited from these crimes and so did these two women. They live a fantastic life which is not in keeping with their financial position.”
The women’s social media presence shows a glamorous lifestyle — with a parade of luxury cars, boats and photos in exotic locations.
Nagel’s Instagram bio describes her as Tate’s personal assistant and an events organiser.
“DM for guestlist,” her bio proclaims.
Her posts include pictures of a luxury yacht, one of Tate’s beloved Bugatti’s and a tour of his luxury million dollar mansion.
Another video shows Nagel firing a semi-automatic weapon — comments from followers beg for updates regarding Tate’s arrest.
“Top G’s guardian,” one described her.
Radu goes by the name Ellie Dely on social media and she has posted more than 890 photos and videos on her profile.
Apart from the occasional Bugatti photo there is little evidence of her working relationship with Tate.
Romanian media reported that Radu’s jet-setting lifestyle did not match the income she declared with the government.
Her last annual statement of assets said she had just $700 to her name.
Tate himself, is banned from many social media platforms for misogynistic comments and hate speech.
It is believed Tate’s online feud with climate activist Greta Thunberg tipped off authorities to his whereabouts in the last week of December.
After taunting Thunberg in a Twitter post where he bragged about his “enormous emissions” car collection, the 19-year-old Swede responded with an epic burn, signing off with: “Email me at [email protected].”
Unable to help himself, Tate responded with another video showing a pizza from Romanian chain Jerry’s Pizza.
Sources close to the investigation told local news publication Gandul that anti-mafia prosecutors learnt where Tate and his brother were living through their social media activity.
In fact, police may have tracked down the pair after they ordered the pizza, leaving their address.
Tate and Tristan were pictured being led away in handcuffs following an investigation for the alleged kidnapping of two young women in their villa in the town of Voluntari in April.
Prosecutors said they had found six women who had allegedly been sexually exploited by the suspects.
