Tech giants agree to AI safeguards set by White House

WASHINGTON – Seven big Artificial Intelligence (AI) companies in the US have agreed to voluntary safeguards to manage risks posed by the technology, in a start towards more robust governance of AI, said the US’ Ambassador-at-Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Nathaniel Fick.

The July 21 commitment involved Amazon, Anthropic, Google, Inflection, Meta, Microsoft and OpenAI, all convened by the White House.
