Teen arrested after alleged school stabbing

A teenage boy is in police custody after allegedly stabbing a fellow student at a high school.

Victorian Police officers responded to reports of a stabbing in a school on Plenty Road in Reservoir at 10.50am on Tuesday.

A boy was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, as a second was arrested.

Ambulance Victoria told NCA NewsWire the boy suffered upper body injuries but was transported to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The second boy is assisting police with their inquiries, but the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined.

Police said there was no ongoing threat to the community, but anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
