Erik ten Hag runs a tight ship at Manchester United as he looks to eek every ounce of potential from his squad.
The Dutchman enjoyed a successful first season in charge at Old Trafford, winning the Carabao Cup, reaching the FA Cup final and finishing in third spot in the Premier League.
However Ten Hag is keen to get more from his team with some of his bizarre methods coming to light.
According to the Daily Mail, players are expected to arrive on club duty in the correct colour code, including either black or white socks, with the decision emailed to each player the night before.
Ten Hag is notified of any violation and has even placed a ban on players wearing flip-flops.
Man United’s players must also eat breakfast together, while mobile phones are strictly banned.
In terms of workload, Ten Hag has insisted that United’s commercial commitments were reduced from three days to two during their US tour with the focus on giving his players extra rest.
Players have also been kitted out with muscle sensors to check for fatigue, blood glucose monitors and sweat patches to assess their hydration.
He’s even brought along two chefs and two nutritionists in order to make sure that his players are able to condition themselves in the best way possible.
With Man United keen to challenge for the Premier League title, marginal gains will be of the utmost importance and Ten Hag and his players will undoubtedly be hoping that his attention to detail will pay dividends at the end of the season.
