According to the press note on the CPSC website, the agency found that the kid-focused Cyberquad fails to meet the mandatory safety standards for youth ATVs. In particular, the Cyberquad’s suspension specifications and maximum tire pressure figures do not meet the required safety standards, making the product more susceptible to crashes and injury hazards. CPSC also added that the Cyberquad did not have a CPSC-approved action plan, which was mandatory for manufacturers to import, sell, and distribute ATVs in the U.S. market.
Following the directive, Radio Flyer recommended that all Cyberquad for Kids buyers immediately stop using the product. It also asks users to remove the motor controller from the Cyberquad, which is a quick way to disable the product permanently. While the product recall isn’t mandatory, Radio Flyer recommends all users comply with the CPSC directive.
On its website, Radio Flyer also confirmed that all customers participating in the product recall are eligible for a full refund of $1,900. Customers can return only the motor controller to get the full refund.
