Year 1 of the Chris Beard era in Austin has had its ups and downs for the Texas Longhorns, who are in search of their first true road win as they go to the Octagon of Doom to face Kansas State on Tuesday.
The Wildcats are allowing opponents to make just 25.8 percent of their 3-point shots, which ranks sixth in the country.
Texas has used turnovers on defense to create points, ranking second in the country in turnovers forced per possession to spearhead an offense that is 20th in points scored on a per possession basis.
Both teams have been two of the best in the country on defense with Kansas State 26th in the country in points allowed on a per-possession basis and Texas second in this category.
Texas is 346th in the country in possessions per game and with the Longhorns having allowed 64 points or fewer in every game they’ve played except for the Gonzaga game, Tuesday’s showdown will feature lots of tenacious defense.
The play: Texas-Kansas State total, Under 122.5.
