The 2024 Ford F-150 Tremor looks like it’ll get some upgrades

The animal kingdom knows standing still is a sure-fire way to get run over—and Detroit’s truckmakers share that belief. In a continuous game of one-upmanship, Ford seems set to apply a few updates to its F-150 Tremor for the 2024 model year. This test mule, nabbed by our spies near Ann Arbor, sports revised front and rear fascias, plus a few other alterations. Changing up a vehicle’s lighting signatures is a high-impact yet relatively affordable way of altering a rig’s appearance for the new model year, especially if its sheetmetal doesn’t need to be massaged. That appears to be the case here.

On display on this mostly-uncamouflaged prototype is a front grille which seems to encase the headlights rather than stand alone as a separate unit. Expect numerous variants of grille for 2024, since Ford likes to endow the myriad of trims and packages with a distinctive appearance. Can’t have an XL looking like a King Ranch, after all.

As for the headlights themselves, they have a more prominent amber light between the lower and upper lamp buckets, suggesting a new lighting signature is on the way.

Pay no mind to the grey trim, as it is likely just a skiff of camouflage to throw us all off the trail. Same goes for the spear of grey between those new headlights; expect that area to bear the Tremor’s orange detail when it appears in showrooms.

Around back, the taillamps look to be the same shape, but have new curved illumination details; and it seems the four LEDs which double as payload indicators have moved to the bottom of the lens.

Left unmentioned by our photogs, but caught by these jaundiced eyes, is a wide open and unfinished area on this truck’s front bumper. While it is wholly possible this is part of testing to improve cooling for the F-150 powertrain, it is also the perfect spot in which to place a factory-installed winch. This would not be out of character for the image this Tremor package is trying to cultivate.

There are also wayward electrics in this unfinished area, which could be connector for a winch, or simply just standard wiring roughly lashed together on this test mule.

We shouldn’t have long to wait before finding out. Expect an official debut in the coming months, perhaps at the State Fair of Texas in September.
