Playstation has released a trailer for the upcoming game The Artful Escape. The trailer shows some of the various environments that will be in the game, while also revealing the release date. The game is being developed by Beethoven and Dinosaur, and published by Annapurna Interactive.
The trailer features a narrator talking to protagonist Francis Vendetti, as he tells him about the upcoming journey, and telling him that he’s a star.
We don’t get to see a lot of gameplay in this trailer, but we can see that Francis playing his guitar will be a large element in it. We can see him playing on some kind of giant flying turtle, and on another moving platform, and he even seems to be performing for a giant creature in the middle of a forest. Throughout the trailer we can see some of the praises it’s already getting as well, saying that it’s one of the best games of the year, and that it truly captures the power of music.
The Artful Escape is a platforming game that features a teenage guitar prodigy named Francis Vendetti. He is about to play his first performance, but struggles with the legacy of a dead folk legend and his own imagination. He embarks on a psychedelic journey in order to help inspire his stage persona, traveling through many places such as opera houses, alien landscapes, and more.
Throughout the game, you will be able to use Francis’s guitar in order to do things like interact with your surroundings and help against boss fights. You will also be able to customize what your stage persona will be. The game features the voices of Michael Johnston (Teen Wolf, Tales of Zestiria), Caroline Kinley (Love is Blue, Love is Yellow), Lene Headey (Game of Thrones, 300), Jason Schwartzman (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Fargo), Mark Strong (Battlefield V, Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator).
The game was previously released in September 2021 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The Artful Escape will be making its debut for the Playstation 5 and Playstation 4 on January 25, 2022. You can check out the release date trailer below:
