The debate about paying with a credit card in some establishments
Payment by credit card has become very widespread in recent years, especially among the younger population, but more and more establishments are opting for its use as a faster and easier alternative when it comes to charging. Likewise, banks are choosing to facilitate their obtaining and method of payment. However, from the Bank of Spain they clarify a mystery that has been haunting the minds of several users who resort to this system.
This dilemma focuses on the request to show the ID to corroborate the identity of the person in order to make a purchase, something that is currently up in the air, since it is considered a way to guarantee the authenticity of the person and that the owners of the premises have the right to request it. On the other hand, many allude to the fact that since this entire process with mobile payments is digitized, where the physical credit card is not available, it is useless to have to show the ID or an identifying element, since the device itself has its own security systems.
